Carlyle Brown, our friendly photographer, is a familiar sight in New
Waterford’s halls. His cheerful smile and ready service make him a
favorite of the Annual Staff. We wish to express our thanks to him for
the photography work he has done, which has helped make our Annual
a success.
DEDICATION
We, the Class of 1957, dedicate this publication of the Wahi to
Mr. and Mrs. James Hawkins. Their friendship and assistance have
helped us through many trying times during our high school days.
The hill we have climbed has not been easy but through their
support we have attained our goal.

FOREWORD
Hello! You’re teens—You’re graduates—you’re adults! Here is your book
depicting trials and tribulations, joys and sorrows, ideals learned and upheld—
all combined with work and play to produce for you a final "summing up” of
your school days.
We hope to recall for you the activities and achievements as lived and enjoyed
this year and reproduce a treasured memory when—with this production you
reminisce in the years to come.
We present to you our Wahi!
______________ PRINCIPAL
Never regard others as a means to your end. Each individual has a
duty to regard others as individuals with honor and respect. To
achieve a goal without using others, he has attained his goal with
dignity.
I SUPERINTENDENT ■—

CLASS POEM
We’ve had our work and had our play
We’ve all looked forward to the day
When school was f inished and we’d be
Out on our otvn, from school set free.
But as the end draws nearer still
It’s been like climbing up a hill
As Freshmen, we were at the start
With help from classmates with a heart.
Then higher up the hill we went
To Sophomore year the class u>as sent
A little harder it would be
The hill got steeper, don’t you see.
The teachers helped to pull us through
We worked together as climbers do
Some led the ivay the rest tv ere near,
We reached a ledge, our Junior year.
A little different this year was
For things began to really buzz
The time had come for plays and such
And here the teachers helped so much.
We had the prom to show our thanks
To classmates in the upper ranks
The next year found us in their place
The hill top now, as Seniors, we face.
So here ive are, the hill we’ve climbed
We’re at-the top, our work tvas timed
We ask ourselves, "Where to, from here?3
A steeper hill we’ll climb next year.
But we will leave our leaders to
Help others in the work they do
The climb’s been fun, you try it too
So long, and all our luck to you.
Jean Robb

Harding; Vice President, Charles Olnhausen (Charles became President when
Larry moved to Florida for the winter); Secretary, Nance Knight; Treasurer,
