ERECTED 1924 HIGH SCHOOL ADDITION 1939
DESTROYED BY FIRE 1954
Dear to the hearts of all who attended classes in these
cherished rooms.
Many and memorable are the events which have taken place,
enriching the lives of three generations of boys and
girls.
We know how fond must be
the memories of these events.
And how much more dearly "Pickett Hi" will be enshrined
in the hearts of all her sons and daughters now that
she is gone!
And so, the Seniors of 1954» deep in our own grief at
this tragic loss, dedicate this volume to the memory
of "OLD PICKETT" as she will now be forever known
and loved.

Varsity Basketball
The Cardinal squad had one of its better basketball seasons in
many seasons, this year. The Cardinals ended the season with a 17-7
record in all games played and an 8-2 record in Conference play. The
Redbirds took second place in the C-D-C-B Conference, second place
in the Clarksdale tournament, and consolation in the King City tour-
nament .
We had a well balanced team this year under the supervision of
Coach Weed. The team loses five good athletes by graduation, but
great things are expected of the team next year. We had a few indiv-
idual stars but our victories were team victories by a spirited
group. The team maintained good spirit throughout and was comparable
with any in Pickett history.
The five graduating seniors are Bob East, Ed Peek, Gary Nelson,
6arl Bolz, and Charles Heerlein.
The players receiving Varsity letters are Bob East, Chas. Heer-
lein, Carl Bolz, Gary Noisonj jim Noel, Jack Horn, Bob Herring, Dar-
rel Lollar, Bill Catron, and Jerry Miller.
