Oh, Pickett High we love you more each day.
We’re steadily growing better in every way.
We love your colors, they are red and white.
Your standards are so high, for them we’ll ever fight.
Our loyalty dates back to days of yore.
The teams all have it, we all need some more,
And we know that you deserve the rep,
We’ve got the pep,
For Pickett High.
The Senior Class of Pickett High School,
producers of the 1952 Lanldrac, dedicates
this volume to the graduates and former stu-
dents of Pickett High who are so steadfast-
ly serving their country in the armed forces.
We make this dedication with deep appre-
ciation of the aacrlfices they are making
and the hardships and dangers they endure
and face for their country’s sake and for
our’s.
We make this dedication also with fond
recollections of warm friendships and hap-
py school days with many of them who were
so lately with us as students.
We make this dedication.in sadness and
sorrow for those who have suffered Injury
in combat and for those who gave up their
lives in their country’s service.
Surely, "greater ,love has no man than
this, that he lay down his life for his
friend."

BASKETBALL 1952
The 1951-52 Basketball season was a dark one for the Cardinals. For the
first time in many seasons they finished with less than a .500$ average, they
won eleven games and lost thirteen for 1|58^ average for the year.
The redbirds tackled the toughest schedule in the school’s history and
were unable to cope with mos t of the larger schools that they played,
Most of the seasons losses .can be attributed to Cardinals inability to
hit the hoop with any regularity. The ability was there but the ball just
would not cooperate.
We lose four seniors frcm the years squad, Bill Steele, Dale Bruce, Ernie
Krawczyk, and Ernie Frye, These four boys contributed much to the squad and
will be missed considerably.
The following boys received letters in basketball, Seniors: Bruce, Frye,
Krawczyk, and Steele. Juniors: Wilson, Ackley, Willis, and Friley. Soph:
East, Bolz, and Heerlein. Provisional Lettermen were: Nelson, Herring, J.
Miller, W. Miller, and Church.

Pickett rolled over Union Star in their season opener to win 38-0.
Krawczyk, Wilson, and Steele scored and were backed up defensively by the rest
of the squad.
The Cardinals blasted Stewartsville 53-22 in their second outing to hit
