WE GO DOWN IN HISTORY:
Wilmer Phillips — for his ability to please everyone in class and his love for Virginia Sims.
Stanley Newman -- for his solos when a teacher leaves the room and his ability to play basket-
ball.
Thomas Lee Rice -- for his shyness (???) of women and his quiet courtesy and consideration.
Audrey Elliott -- for her love for music and her precision winking.
Phyllis Adams -- for her serious outlook on life and for thinking “Billy ” rhymes with “Phy-
llis.”
Grayson Walsh -- for his beautiful work on posters and the Busy bee and for always “fussing”
about something.
Berkeley Garber -- for his loyal support of the Dixiecrat ticket and his fine posters.
Robert Sydney Rice -- for being so considerate in class by not snoring when asleep and for al-
ways being a faithful friend.
Tilly Jo Moren -- for her sense of humor and for her interest in a Farmer’s dear hunting.
Billy Broache — for his way with the girls and his love for history.
Audrey Dean for her pleasing personality and smile for everyone and her love for mixed
company.
Suzanne Martin -- for her flirting way with boys and for her sense of humor.
Irvin Holsapple -- for his love for the teachers and for always being conscientious.
Robert Campbell -- for being a good sport in all athletics and for his ability to always make
himself heard.
Linda Campbell -- for being the “bright” one in class and for Sunday dates with Parker.
Shirley Blake -- for her giggles and her willingness to work and her popularity as “Flossie” at
Bright Star.
Billy Fitzgerald -- for not ever solving the mystery of pushing Phyllis through the window on
late nights and his love for basketball and tennis.
William Previs -- for being so attentive in class and never giving anybody any trouble.
Nora Roberts -- for liking Rice so well and for her quiet and sincere ways.
Doris Mundy — for liking Hampton and for her always “monkeyshining.”
SENIOR SONG
As history turns a page' now,
We take our last stand,
As one true band of loyal friends,
We linger hand in hand.
Now we take our places with
the rest
With those who’ve gone before
But loyal to King William High
Wfe’ll be forevermore.
Oh please remember us as
The Class of ’49
And when we’re known as school’s
old grads
You’ll say, “They’re pals of mine”
This whole class of seniors
Attired in cap and gown
Will e’er be known as ones who
ne’er
Let each other down.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
We do not wish to be forgotten, and to you who’ll carry our name,
We each leave a talent, and one which we hope will help bring you some of our fame.
Lady Killer Broache leaves his gals to Billy Sheppard and most of his pals.
And tall young Robert leaves his voice, so Tommy Cobb can make some noise.
And4lo.”the Fitzgerald intellect, goes to G. H. so he can recollect.
But quiet young Berkeley turns over his charm to noisy Alfred--twill do no harm.
Phyllis Adams leaves her pretty brown eyes, to help Ruth Ann really get wise.
And Audrey Elliott leaves her manner so grand, to help fidgety Sims take a stand.
And Shirley believes her giggles and smiles, may help Betty Walters use her wiles.
Ah Irvin’s charm with the Faculty, Edwin shall have that ability
And the demure shyness of Audrey Dean, we know will go to Betty Jean.
And Doris Mundy’s ability to clown, will surely help Rachel go to town.
And Tilly Jo’s soft and curly hair, will surely be Mickey’s pride to wear.
Stanley leaves his basketball skill, to Erwin Campbell who can use it and will.
And Suzanne leaves her chewing gum, so Alice Beasley can enjoy it some.
William Previs leaves his quiet ways, F. C. will use them--one of these days.
And Linda thinks an occasional A, can certainly help Russell on the way.
Grayson’s talent for something always to say, will be for John Rebick’s use some day.
And Wilmer’s generous personality, he thinks will help Gantt’s frugality.
And Nora thinks that her dancing feet, will make Tommy Garber hard to beat.
Not shy, just cautious is Thomas Lee, and he leaves that quality to Mary C.
But Sydney’s gift tops the best, he leaves class naps to all the rest.
JUST SUPPOSE
THAT—
Berkeley failed--
Linda couldn’t primp—
Stanley agreed with you for once—
Shirley couldn’t “fuss” just a little—
Audrey D. really got angry—
Robert Sidney studied hard for 30 minutes —
Suzanne had no freckles—
Robert C. were 4’6” and Billy Broache was
6’4” tall—
Audrey E. couldn’t read anything for one whole day—
William were married--
Phyllis had blonde hair and blue eyes—
Thomas Lee were deeply in love—
Tilly Jo didn’t like Shirley and Linda-
Billy F. couldn’t play basketball—
Doris couldn’t think of a “prank” —
Irvin didn’t study—
Nora couldn’t chuckle her giggles—
Wilmer couldn’t sing—
Grayson couldn’t grin—
Suppose we hadn’t ever come to school—
Suppose we don’t graduate—
Suppose that Mrs. C. and Mrs. W. weren’t our
sponsors and
Suppose we WEREN’T—period—
We’re just Supposing.

SCHOOL SONG
Let’s give a Rah for K. W. H. S.,
And let us work with all our might,
Others may like black and crimson,
But for us it’s Orange and Blue.
Let other colors be forgotten,
Let us the spirit rule,
We’ll join and give a royal welcome
For the good of our old school.
It’s K. W. H. S. It’s K. W. H. S.
The pride of everyone that’s here.
Come on ye old Grads, come on ye young lads,
It’s old K. W. H. S., we cheer, Rah Rah.
Now is the time boys, to make a big noise,
No matter what the people say.
For there is none to fear, the gang’s all here,
So, Hail to K. W. H. S., Hail.
