MOTTO—'Tis good to live and learn.
FLOWER—White Rose.
COLORS—Crimson and White.
CLASS OF 1946
We the class of '46 have spent four years as students of C.H.S. In these four years
we have combined hard work and fun, and as a result have many fond remembrances
for the closing page of our high school album of memories.
Yes, we have had fun! Many members of our class have participated in the numer-
ous extra-curricular activities. These activities include music, dramatics, sports and
other school functions.
The parties sponsored by various organizations are always to be remembered as the
places where friends could get together. We all say a big "thanks" for all the swell
parties.
We have reason to be proud of the football and basketball teams we have had
during our years as students. There have been tough times and defeats that were hard
to take, but we always had a fighting team and an enthusiastic student body to back up
those teams.
Our class is graduating under different conditions than the classes of the past four
years. This is the first peace-time graduation in C.H.S. since 1941.
Drafting is still going on to some extent, but the youths are not being taken in such
numbers. All our years in high school have been disturbed by the rumble of war drums
in the European and Pacific areas. Now our class can anticipate a bright future for
the success we know the world must hold for us. We the generation of tomorrow, have
a big job ahead of us, but we have been well prepared for our duties.

The purpose of the Girls' Athletic Association is to promote sports-
manship among the girls, and to encourage participation in healthful
recreation.
During the school year the girls enjoyed picnics, hikes, parties, and
other sports, the highlight being the basketball season with approx-
imately ninety-five girls reporting for practice. This was followed by
an intramural tournament in which each class supported two teams.
Awards are given in the form of numerals, letters, chevrons, and
stars at the close of each year to the girls who have earned them
through participation in the various activities.

The Thespians is a growing
and thriving organization built
from a small group of students
interested in developing dra-
matics. Through work and co-
operation it has become a fairly
large society. With the con-
tinued efforts and enthusiasm
that has been shown by the
present and past members it
will go ever onward, striving for
the ideals expressed in its motto.
"Act well your part; therein all
the honor lies."

These trophies were established in memory of Bob
Keene and Joe Larson, members of our Basketball team in
1942-1943, who died in 1945 while in service of their
country.
In order that more students might have the opportunity
to play, eight boys' teams and eight girls' teams were
organized.
A round-robin tournament has been played. At the
close of the tournament a trophy will be given to the
winner in each class. At the time we go to press the
tournament is not finished, so the winner cannot be
named.
Below are the teams who played.

THE SCENE
Pop's Malt Shoppe—A characteristic high school meeting place.
THE PLAY
Margaret Foster, a high school career girl, learns the price of success when she is
faced with a choice between entering a State drama tournament and accepting the
sponsorship of the high school basketball team. At the risk of losing all her friends and
tne prestige of a social leader of the school, she elects to follow her'star and enter the
drama tournament. When she wins the’tournament, success and achievement are in
her grasp but she has made her sacrifice too and learns that the creative artist must
always give up the lesser triumphs for the goal ahead.
