Dedication
The graduating class affectionately dedicates the 1933 year book to the spirit of the Charles City High School. Whether we entered through the doors of our beloved old building, through the accommodating doors of the temporary high school, or through the portals of the inspiring Junior-Senior High School, we felt the kindly, friendly, and helpful spirit of the institution, building the mind and the heart.

JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY
The one hundred sixty-five Freshmen who stormed the doors of Charles City High School in 1930 have never faltered on their march toward fame and success. Their inclination toward social activity is each year becoming more pronounced. This promises the development of a fellowship that will be a far-reaching influence in their senior year.

SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY
On September 5, 1933, after one year of being looked down on and scorned by Seniors, the "wise fools," an active band of workers, settled down to nine months of hard labor, stop ping only for Christmas and spring vacations. The foreman of this band was James Steihl; the assistant foreman, Ben Lindaman; the time keeper, Bernadine Thomas. A class party was held at the Manual Arts, April 22, 1933, and was enjoyed by all. The Sophomores were represented in almost every activity, including football, basketball, track, glee club, declam, debate, student council, and the honor roll. Miss Herrling and Mr. Gormley helped made
this year a success.
